Pressing Pause

I said I would write yesterday but never got around to it, so I made a promise to myself that I would actually write something today. Blogging along with work, sleep, and life has been tough to keep up with the last several months. Especially sleep. and when you work early morning hours like I did, sleep is very important. I finally couldn't keep up anymore and my body was slowly but surely becoming exhausted. I was getting sick again and eventually started feeling contractions in the middle of the night. At this point, I had to make the decision on whether this schedule was right for me at this stage of pregnancy. I know many moms who have done it, and I applaud them, but I am not one of them. Thankfully I worked for a news station that understood that my health came first. My last day setting my alarm so early was yesterday and now I can focus on rest and preparing for baby Maddie.

Making this decision was not easy. I guess you could say I'm selfish when it comes to my career, I worked hard for this and I want to continue pursuing my dream. I also want to help contribute to our future financially. Living off of one income is not something we want to continue, especially with the military cutting guys left and right. I have to keep reminding myself that this is temporary and I have the rest of my life to follow my dream job and help pay the bills. But now it's time to focus on one of the most important jobs I'll ever have: being the best mom I can be.

I'm hoping to jump back into the TV scene once I get mommyhood under control and Nate returns home from his next deployment, which will be after the baby makes her debut. Thank goodness for Skype and FaceTime so he can watch his little girl grow! + he'll be able to read about our day through this blog.

Filling in on both KARK and Fox16, usually I'm out in the field
Now that I got that little announcement out of the way. Let's talk BABY! More specifically, the bump.

Week 26
Week 27

Almost Week 28

I guess you could say I've officially "popped". The bump is growing every day!!! She is moving so much in there, I sometimes wonder how she has so much room. I feel ok, tired still, but ok. Sometimes I get this sharp pain down the right side of my abdomen when I'm standing up, but I've been told that's because she's just positioned in a weird way. I've gained almost 30 pounds since December. I'm drinking a lot of water and eating a lot of candy... which could be the reason I've gained so much. Ha!! The nursery is almost done and we've stocked up on diapers. My family visited this past weekend bringing the entire Gap store with them. Baby Maddie will surely make their Fall catalog this year. I plan on getting my fancy camera out and taking you around her nursery when I have more time on my hands. I also plan on letting you all know how our newborn classes are going... I'll write more later but you should know that Nate and I are the most immature people there. Surprise, surprise.

I can imagine that you worked really hard to get to where you are now (career wise), but I definitely understand you putting your health first. Getting up that early can't be easy!
